Radio Dead Air

September 10th, 2007

So tonight on RDA, we’re gonna do things a little different.

I’m still bummed out over the loss of 96 Wave. (If you’re behind on what I’m talking about, look here.) It really is like losing a friend; I find myself remembering all the elements of my young life that 96 Wave made possible, things that just wouldn’t have happened if not for that radio station. How is it you can get a third of the way through your life before you realize just how cool your hometown really was?

Tonight belongs to 96 Wave, and everything I can remember about it, but most importantly it belongs to the music that I was gifted in that long ago age. I’ll still play requests and such, but mostly tonight I’ll be trying to give you just a glimpse, just a snapshot of one of the coolest radio station to ever grace the airwaves: 96 Wave, Charleston’s Best Rock, (Hanahan, Charleston).

Also other things, like info about the upcoming Blue Mountain concert (and possible interview), the usual madness, and whatever falls in our path. Do be so kind as to tune in.
